Raising awareness of climate and environmental protection
Every citizen must participate in and contribute to the energy transition. Luxembourg will be organising regular awareness-raising campaigns to raise awareness of the challenges we must collectively meet. The public media will be involved to encourage people to consciously opt for climate-friendly alternatives. This will be done along the lines of the agreement between the State and public radio station 100.7, which has made information on climate change part of its public service remit.
Environmental education and education for sustainable development should be an integral part of the school curriculum in both primary and secondary education. The aim of these educational approaches is to encourage children and young people at an early age to adopt a responsible attitude towards the environment and natural resources by imparting appropriate knowledge. In addition, nature-related educational activities will be promoted in a targeted way to actively involve children and young people in the basics of natural life.
The local authorities will also be supported in their efforts to raise awareness and inform their citizens.
