Renaturation of national watercourses
Together with the communes, the government will continue its efforts to renaturalise watercourses in order to improve flood protection and considerably increase biological and aquatic diversity. Projects already underway will be implemented rapidly. The Government will also ensure that dams that no longer serve a practical purpose are dismantled, while taking into account the protection of monuments.

Work is certainly being carried out in this area. However, a “reinforced” dynamic in terms of implementation cannot yet be observed, although some preliminary work is underway (workshops organised by the Water Management Administration with various stakeholders, a national round table of the relevant actors scheduled for the end of November, and the establishment of various working groups that are expected to develop concrete measures by summer 2026).
