• 13. Consistently implement climate adaptation measures
  • Excerpt from government statement

  • The Government will carry out an in-depth analysis of the possible effects of climate change on our society in all areas and will update the strategy for adapting to climate change. Within this framework, the Government will not limit itself to drawing up concrete measures, but will also mobilise the financial resources needed to implement them in order to strengthen the resilience of our society and the environment, including through the adaptation of natural and human habitats, the protection of critical infrastructures and the consolidation of public health.

  • Status of implementation/Meco commentary Stand der Umsetzung/Meco-Kommentar

  • The development of the climate adaptation strategy is progressing, but a definitive document with clear priorities, timeframes and financing instruments has not yet been adopted. As no concrete steps for implementing this government mandate are known, no information on the release of funds is available, and the ‘in-depth analysis of the possible effects of climate change on our society’ is not available (this is not provided for in the government’s national resilience strategy), this can only be described as a very first step in the sense of the coalition agreement.
