The tramway, as a means of public transport in urban areas, is an undeniable success. This is why the government is committed to further developing the tramway in addition to the lines currently planned for Luxembourg City.

In addition to the rapid tramway project between Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette, the possibility of creating other rapid tramway links will be examined in ongoing dialogue with the stakeholders concerned.

The expansion of the modern light rail system is progressing at the level of the City of Luxembourg. It is not known how dynamically the other requirements of the coalition agreement are being worked on.
