In order to compensate for the variability of renewable energies in the electricity grid, the Government will launch pilot projects in the field of electricity storage at national level. At the same time, the introduction of subsidies for local storage devices for citizens will also be studied. As part of this, the Government will ensure that, as far as possible, electric car batteries can also be integrated into the electricity grid as storage devices.

A draft law is on its way through the courts that provides for pre-financing the installation of batteries. More fundamental measures, such as those in the coalition agreement, are not known.
